The best way would be to take the keys off (they pop off and on easily) and then tape up the space where the keys go. Clean and lightly sand the base to prime it, then spray paint your favorite color. Then spray paint the keys with several coats to ensure it won't rub off (letting dry completely after each coat). Once dry, pop the keys back on.

If you want to paint a keyboard the best method i have found is to use an airbrush similar to what model builders use for painting planes etc.

You can buy them quite cheaply from a hobby store. It will take abit of practice to get the technique, but the best thing about doing this will be that you can then mix your own paint to come up with your own color scheme.

You dont need to prime or "pop off" keys with this method. as the airbrush (once you have had some practice) is light enough not to gum up the mechanism. I got some quite good results from using layering to make a desert camo effect.

Dont for get to use paper tape to cover areas you dont what that color. i.e. the little LED caps lock lights ect.

I don't know if i'm the only one thinking this, but surely if you spray the keys on the keyboard then you wont be able to see any of the characters/letters printed onto them ? Or is that not an issue ?
