It lasts the same amount of time as bad times. You're just deceiving yourself into thinking that simply because you want it to last long, or, you want it to end now. Vice/Versa.

Because we can't see the good except on the background of the bad. Just as we cannot see light except on the background of darkness, or any other issue where contrast is what makes perception possible.
Eat chocolate once a week or once a month, and it's a marvelous flavor, texture, almost a miracle of sensation. Eat it every day, all day, and you will grow weary of it, wondering why you ever loved it so much.
The good times don't last because otherwise, we would not be able to perceive them as good. People who have never had big problems perceive tiny problems as big, because it is all they know.
Would you know what starvation feels like? Not just growly tummy, but real feel-like-dying starvation? If you have always had a full kitchen, a bit of "polite interest in the contents of a well-stocked larder" will be taken for hunger.
Would it be a good time if the party never ended? If the same people went around laughing at the same jokes, the same wolves tried to pinch the same bottoms, the same music played over and over out of the same stereo speakers, the same gourmet hors d'oeuvres were laid out beside the same punch bowl?

Maybe you should be asking the question why do the bad times last so long. maybe what you need in your life is a little change. change what your hair looks like or how you dress or even what you drive or your job. maybe the good times are not lasting as long because you are not really happy with how your life is going right now. stop take a look around and see if what you have is really what you need and want to be happy in life. then if it's not do some changing. there is a lot more to life than meets the eye. HAVE FUN WITH IT. you only have one life. :-D

Without offense meant,,, how do you define GOOD, and/or LONG?
Consider that life probably should offer variety, if for no other reason than to combat boredom, and teach humilty.
Consider too, the fact that someone else, believing they may never have experienced "good", might ask a similar question...
"Why do "bad times" seem endless?"

Its us that changes. we become possessive or obsessive over things that give us joy sometimes an think too much about it. Too much thought causes worry and worry ruins it.
On another note, if the good time is short lived get viagra.
