as I watch other questions about the Kramer guy, a lot of people are assuming that his outburst was a part of his show. Are they serious, or am I the only person that feels his outburst was real? On the video it seemed that he was upset because some useless hecklers didnt find him funny, and went off with the lynching and other racist slurs. So did I miss the memo about this being a whole act or something because people responses are why are people offended comics offend other races all the time, and my thing is this yeah when its apart of their ACT! not when they are MAD because someone didn't find them funny!!!! So why are people assuming African Americans are in a frenzy because he used the N word when black comedians always insult White people? its not about that because if it was a part of his act, then who gives a damn but that man was upset, and his true colors were shown, so why are people belittling the situation? making it as if Black people can't take jokes! was it one?

It is nothing but a weak attempt to justify Richards' behavior. The guy is a racist and it doesn't get any clearer than the tape that we all saw. He makes me ill, and I feel embarrassed for the audience, especially the hecklers that he targeted. There is no way in hell that those comments were apart of his act. "This is what happens when you interrupt a white man?" Disgusting. Also, not every black comedian calls a white person cracker. Anyone who uses that childish logic is just trying to justify the usage of the n-word. Lastly, the bottom line is simple. Regardless of whether or not the hecklers started it, or if they egged him on, Richards showed his true colors that night when the first response in his mind was to attack the racial heritage of the hecklers. If the Nword is the very first thing that you think of when a black heckler boos you, you are a racist asshole. Why is he a comedian if he cannot take what comes with the territory? Obviously he is in the wrong business.

well it was a a very ugly part of a guy i really like a lot until today . I'm no longer a fan of his . i have never seen some one just go after a heckler like that Mr. Richard really show his true colors and i think this could hurt him in the long run . black peoples can and do use the n word in a funny way and Africans American can relate to using this but when it come out of the mouth a white man and he is saying it in the way Mr. Richard was using it that is flat out racist .

I guess there are people who can't get beyond that he was Kramer. When he was on David Letterman last night giving his account of what happened, it was a really serious moment and audience members were STILL laughing! It was so uncomfortable! Jerry Seinfeld had to say, "Hey, it's not funny!"
Like, for some reason there are just people who don't get that entertainers DON'T perform 24/7!
But I'm with you, you can ABSOLUTELY tell that his ranting wasn't part of the act.
It sort of makes me think of the Mercutio character in Romeo & Juliette. He is mortally wounded but he is always such a clown that no one takes him seriously when he is writhing in pain and in his final death throws --they think it's just his same ol' silliness.

But, please don't think that I consider him a victim. By what I saw on the clip, he was clearly out of line and it wasn't just part of his act!

I agree whole-heartedly with you. His remarks had nothing to do with his routine, it had to do with his attitude. He could have said anything to put the hecklers in their place, but talking about hanging upside down with a fork in their ----- 50 years ago was totally racist and insulting to African Americans who have had to endure these atrocities for centuries. Everyone, regardless of race, should have been offended at his remarks. It's not about the "N" word...yes that offends me, but not to the point of his other statements. He spewed nothing but hatred for all black people, especially when he stated that's what happens when you interrupt a "white" man. Racist... yes, tolerable... no!

Definately wasn't part of the act.. I saw him on the news this morning apologizing for his comments and saying "I'm not a racist, that's what so crazy about this!" Well in my opinion someone who isn't a racist doesn't spew the kind of garbage that came out of his mouth.
