They should be replaced whenever you decide that they no longer match the decor of the bathroom, whenever they break, or whenever the finish surface has been breached. Interestingly, The Mythbusters collected bacterial cultures from all over their place of business, the kitchen, the metalshop, the storage rooms, the bathroom floor, the bathroom sink, the toilet seat, and half a dozen more that I can't remember, the results after they gave the cultures sufficient time to grow found that the toilet seat was the cleanest part of the shop, from a microbial perspective, and that isn't because they keep a dirty shop, the Mythbusters' workshop is one of the cleanest that I have ever seen.

If you just moved in then do it now. I always replace the toilet seat when i move into a new home. and then depends on the quality of toilet seat you buy. most likely you wont need to replace it for at least 5 years.

Depends upon the type you have in the house.
Wooden ones last a bit longer around 5 years than the cushiond ones which last about 3 years. Of course if you see spilits or cracks in the seams you should replace them; otherwise bacteria can get in and you really can't clean them well that way.

As long as you keep it clean, a toilet seat should last a number of years. If you notice that it is falling apart, you should replace it.

The seat to your toilet is like your clothing, you change it when you either get sick of it, or when it look bad, or breaks. To each person the toilet seat can be very important.

generally, you always replace the toilet seat when moving into a new place, otherwise, you're good until you sit down and slide off to one side, lol. if you clean it often enough (i use pinesol and ammonia for everything) you shouldn't have to replace it until it breaks or you're changing the decor in the bathroom.

I have mine replaced whenever they break or the finish starts to go bad. I don't think there are any rules on when you need to replace them.

relies upon what variety of loo seat it grew to become into. in basic terms a undeniable one, nicely, i could be slightly very much shocked as nicely. yet a novelty one with issues in it, like shells or buttons, perchance that could desire to be exciting on your bathing room.

When you move in or it breaks. One thing I also do is to throw away the junky washers that come w/ them and used hose washers instead. They are more durable.
