Well they do sell soy milk which is lactose free. Which ever why you decide to go just make sure that you introduce it to her slowly. So her system doesn't going into shock rejecting either one. For example. If you give her 8 ounces of formula. when you start to change her over do 2 ounces of milk and 6 of the formula.
Leave it like that for a week then the following week go 4 ounces of formula and 4 of milk. repeat until your completely full of milk. This way you can also tell if she will have an allergy.

Instead of switching her completely, try filling her bottles with half whole and half soy, that should let her body get adjusted to having whole milk in her system, because before if she was just on soy, whole milk alone could upset her tummy a bit, and could give her gas too.

All you can do is try and see what happens - some kids grow out of the lactose intolerance, and some don't. My first one didn't grow out of it, and at 3 years old still drinks soy milk. My second one grew out of it in just a couple of months. Just monitor for rashes, belly aches, irritability...

both of my children were on soy based formulas, at one year we switched them to skim milk without any problems. We never gave them whole milk because they got there fat from cheese and yogurts and such, our doctor was fine with that. I am sure it is a case by case thing so I would ask you pediatrician to be sure.

Both my children were on soy based formulas and when my oldest was around 8 months, she was still spitting up quite a bit, so I myself switched her to Purity's Sweet Acidopholus milk, I did call my pediatrician and told him and he said since her iron count was good, that it was fine. She never had problems after that.

Congratulations! My son will be a year on Thursday! I saw my doctor last Monday and he told me that it was safe for my son to start to drink homo milk now. He's taking it very well. Ask your doctor, but I think at year old, your daughter should be fine to drink whole milk.

I would definately ask her doctor. Or maybe you can start out by the 2 % milk and gradually got with the whole milk.
