I don't think that's the best approach. If somebody asks you a question you're unsure of, just say, "I don't know" or "I'm not sure". It's OK to do that. If you try to evade it and skip it, the other person will think you like to run away instead of responding to a situation in some way. Evading and skipping isn't something one can normally achieve without letting away telltale signs.

Don't be afraid to say: "I don't know." But there is no need to answer here if you don't know. This only applies to Yahoo Answers, but it's okay to say that you don't know. It's better than pretending to know and misleading someone.
