# Open windows or turn on exhaust fans when cooking and after meals.
# Cooking in the microwave usually produces less odors.

# Do not drink fluids with your meals.
# Non caffeinated teas like peppermint and ginger can help came nausea.
# Drink small amounts of fluids regularly though out the day to avoid dehydration.
# Do not skip meals if you can help it.
# Try taking your prenatal vitamins later in the day. Pregnancy Plus prenatal vitamins are smaller in size and are less likely to upset your stomach. You may also want to consider taking your prenatal vitamin at night before you go to bed to give it a chance to be absorbed overnight.
# Avoid spicy and fried food - both eating and smelling it can increase your nausea.
# Cold food may have less nausea inducing smells associated with them.
Doctor Prescribed Medications
If your morning sickness is severe enough, your doctor may prescribe medication that will help you reclaim some normality in your life. If you are unable to keep food or water down for any length of time, PLEASE talk to your doctor to see what can be done. Extensive weight loss / dehydration can be harmful to both mom and baby. Your doctor will be able to evaluate your situation and health profile and decide which medication will be most helpful in giving you morning sickness relief. The medications prescribed are administered in three different ways depending on the severity of the morning sickness and the medication: orally, intravenously, and in suppository format.

If the sickness is mild and/or you feel that the natural remedies (ginger, dry toast, dry biscuits, sipping herbal tea, avoiding "trigger foods" etc) work for you then stick with those.
If nothing is helping and you're really struggling, go and see your doctor. There are safe anti emetic medications you can take in pregnancy (Cyclizine, Phenergan and Stemetil are all used safely to treat Hyperemesis Gravidarum) but they obviously need to be prescribed by a doctor.
Don't suffer in silence! If self help or natural remedies aren't working and you are really struggling get some help from your doctor. I had to be given Cyclizine and it worked a treat. It didn't harm my baby at all.

Before getting up in the morning, nibble of a plain biscuit or a ginger nut biscuit. Ginger is supposed to help morning sickness. This helped me a little.
If you are throwing up lots, maybe consult your midwife, just to get yourself checked over. Drink plenty of water, you will be getting dehydrated otherwise, this will then make you very tired.
Mine lasted until I was 3months, Hope you are feeling better soon. Congratulations too!
I had a little boy.

I had very bad sickness with my daughter. Try eating porridge for breakfast (very hard to bring it up). Try eating before going to bed - just a biscuit or other starchy stuff. I used to like orange squash (sugar again), smelling lemons, mints with real mint in them can help. Ginger is supposed to help but it didn't with me. Eat small meals - about 5 a day! Avoid fatty foods eg sausages. Try to keep hydrated - if you get really ill, see your doctor as some women have to be admitted because of dehydration. Good luck - only another couple of months of it to go.

Ask your Dr. for nausea pills if it is that bad! I am pregnant with my 2nd, and I also had horrible "all day" sickness. I always had a thing of saltines with me. Try to eat small meals through out the day, if you can bear to eat at all. And don't drink liquids with your meal have them after in small portions. All I could eat was fruit for the first three months! Hope this helps. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Take some plain biscuits to bed with you and nibble on it as you start to feel the sickness coming on. This worked for me whilst I was preggers on my little girl!
