Congratulations!!! (((hugs))) I just *love* weddings! I am a minister and did perform a ceremony for a wonderful gay (male) couple...I found the base of a beautiful gay ceremony through an online search, then I tweaked it to reflect what they wanted to say to each other. I also use a book called "Weddings from the Heart" by Daphne Rose Kingma. It gives you all the components of the ceremony so you can pick and choose what feels right for both of you. You are pledging your love and life to the other, and that's what you're going for in the ceremony. Best of luck to you both!!

Congrats to you!!!!! I just recently had a Civil Union (May 6th 2006) here in Connecticut to my girlfriend of 5 years. We had a very nice ceremony at a hall with a Justice of the Peace. We tried to make it as "traditional" as we could....given the circumstances *chuckle*. Plan it just like you would any other type of event. The only thing i made sure of was that i only invited people that i knew cared about me and i knew WANTED to be there (it will make for a much more pleasant experience). If you have any other questions or just wanna chat feel free to email me at zutti33@yahoo.com I could even send you some pictures of ours if you'd like. In any case....good luck with everything!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't been to any gay marriages either, but I don't see why there would be any restrictions on what "can" be done. It's your wedding, plan it the way you would like it! It can be traditional, or it can be a simple ceremony where you each write vows to each other. Exchanging rings would be nice, that's a symbolism of love and commitment no matter what kind of ceremony you have. Congratulations and best wishes to you both!

what ever you do. do not make any gay jokes, besides that just being yourself should be just fine. they will be open if you let them know that you have never done the whole gay thing before i mean they want beat you down or anything like that.
just remember think before you speak
and whispering is rude
also congrats on the engagement
am i inverted... lol

I would be yourself. Gay people are people too. Dont forget that. Everyone has feelings. If you are a polite person with an open mind, you should have nothing to worry about.

No incestuous relationships , no inter species relationships, no pedophiles .... only gay relationships . sure , gay marriage could be legalized . this question is getting real old . i could like an evidence as to why all and sundry is so boastful in believing that this could in any respect harm them or society . we ought to depart the gays on my own already and get on with our lives .

Congrats. Planning is the same regardless of who the two people are. Any wedding magazines / websites will give you guidance. Just do what you want. It's your day, so plan it for yourselves.
