what are the things a studnet going abroad for higher education should take all the basic items please ... want to cross check !

it really depends on which country you are going to as to what you should take. but here's a simple list of things u should always have:

meds
small 1st aid kit
toiletries
power converter & plug adaptors
phrase book
underwear
hoodie
jeans
windbreaker
tops
shower shoes
sweats
flashlight(i was happy i took one b/c one night my power went out)

umm, i know there's a lot more but hard to think of everything off of the top of my head.

Clothing, toiletries and personal reminders of home are key things. Books and studying materials are also a good bet, although these may be available easily depending upon the destination.

For other items, such as cooking utensils and so on it will depend a lot on the situation you will be going into on arrival.
