It's out on DVD. The little girl grew up (and saved the world a few times). The informer kid got his come-upance but I can't remember how.

I think that the alien planet realized it ws losing the war and called for a truce. The half alien/ human kid went to space as an ambassador of peace. Her boyfriend was a stow away on the ship. there were allusions that it might have been a trap. The one who was helping them might have just slithered away.
For some reason I think that 2 of the main freedom fighters were killed in a final battle.

I know at one stage,the aliens were beaten by the `red dust` and they backed off behind the moon.
As to Elizabeth {the hybrid],I'm not sure.
I did have the complete series on VHS,but can't remember all the episodes.
