Hi there, i am now on day 45 of my cycle and still no period, I was due on a week ago on saturday, i took a HPT and got a very very faint positive, repeated it a few days later & it was darker but still faint. So.. i went to my GP's office for a blood HCG test and the results came back Negative? My boobs are really sore, and i am feeling bloated & fatigued?
Any Ideas what this could be? Can blood tests be wrong if performed too early? I would be about 5 weeks if i was pregnant!

Thanks In Advance!
Jens

Well The Doctors Office said... the Urine results are back and i'm sorry but they are negative, and then suggested that i have bloods done .... But i didnt have a urine test, i had my blood done! which seemed quite strange to me. I have booked an appointment for the 29th Nov to see the GP again, so hopefully he will be able to shed some light on whats going on, and maybe repeat the Bloods or send me for a scan!

It does sound like you are pregnant. I'm not sure about the accuracy of blood tests at that stage, but sounds like there was some confusion about your test anyway. A late period, sore breasts and 2 positive home pregnancy tests sounds like you are pregant to me. I only got faint lines on my home tests.
If you are 45 days since your last period, you are over 6 weeks pregnant now.

Hi Jens - I believe that its IMPOSSIBLE to get a False positive pg test, because the hormones have to be present to make that 2nd little blue line. Get yourself back to the docs and ask for the tests to be repeated. And good luck! I hope you get the result that you want. Hugs, Bxx

What did your doctor say???????? HPT can give false positive results and labs can make mistakes on bloodwork. If you do not get your period within the next 4 weeks I would go back and get another blood test.

I think you are pg. When you take a pg test and get positives (even if it's fainted) means you are pg...and it happened 2 to you. The reason why it was fainted it was because your hcg levels are still low but they will go up , maybe that's why the hormone wasn't detected on the blood test? I know they are supossed to be 100% accurate but you sound pg to me.

I would call your GP again and ask that the test be run a second time. It sounds like you are pregnant to me.

never a false positve pregnancy test. blood test doesnt always show up, it could mean u dont have enough hormone to make the one show up postive. go bk to your doctor and show him the home pregnancy test or do one in the office.
