it depends on what the end product is something for you or something for the trade if it is for you it should be very specific and if it is for the trade it can just have an outline of a body with the design on it showing the way the cloth drapes on the figure, any speciality area such as darts, pleats, pockets, accessories etc make sure it is a copy of your original which you should keep check out some of the designer sites and look at their drawings especially those of costume designers and see what their drawings look like
