In the mall when it gets closer to Christmas the local boy scouts sit at a table and wrap gifts for a small fee. You could do that or take your time and make all of the creases with a pen or something hard. if it's a package that is a little weird I would use a gift bag and fill it with tissue paper.

Wrap on a hard surface, like a table. I know that sounds basic, but so many people try to wrap on a bed or floor.

Also, make sure the paper is cut evenly and to fit the package. If you have excess wrapping paper, don't just fold it under, trim it!

You might want to try alternatives or add-ons to bows. I use Tool (the filmy white material that most people use on weddings) to tie packages. I also get a cheap box of ornaments and put them on the tops with a ribbon.

Solid color paper and vibrant bows also look very classy!

Wrap each person's packages in different colored paper, for easy opening. For example, your wife's gifts are all wrapped in gold. You could use this same idea for the ribbons. Use double sided tape for a neater appearance, Wrap only the top of boxes, for easier opening. Make gift tags out of the left over paper the gift was wrapped in. If you are giving several gifts to one person, wrap all the gifts in the same color paper.Stack them all together and wrap the ribbon around all of them together as if it was one gift. Wrapping them in this way, you'll only need one bow. For a multiple gift like this, buy a large , showy bow.

This really depends on if you enjoy wrapping them, or if it seems to be a chore to you...If you enjoy it, make a shopping trip to gather up a host of items you find appealing, wraps, ribbons and such. Often you can easily find coordinating packs that make this simple, and result in beautiful packages. If you find gift wrapping to be a chore, there are often places in the mall that will wrap your gifts for a fee, and sometimes even charitable organizations will offer this service. You could even employ a teen to take on this chore for you, giving them a few bucks for their own holiday spending! The holiday gift bags make it very simple too- just add a small amount of tissue, and pop in your gift.
