I perfectly agree in fact thee past 2 years I decided that if I want to buy one of my kids something I would just buy it and give to them instead of waiting until Christmas as who knows if we will even be here. I think Love should be shown year round not just go all out one time a year and then ignore everyone for the most part until the next year. Last DEC. i was glad i had decided this as my 28 year old daughter was murdered on 12/08/05 her dad and I had bought her a new coat for Christmas and decided to give it to her early. I took it to her place around 5:00 p.m. Tues the 7th and she was killed at 12:37 a.m. The last memory i have of her though short lived with her happiness with her coat was her dancing around in her new coat very happy also I got to hug her and say i love you which has helped me cope a great deal. So see a definite reason to show love year round or just anytime the mood strikes. this Christmas I don't want to celebrate as we didn't last Christmas except showing Love all the gifts have been given or will be before 12/25 and we will be volunteering on Christmas day. I asked my kids what they most wanted bought it and gave it to them already.

It won't work. See the reason most act like that is they are taught as kids to act good around Christmas so Santa will bring gifts. Raise a kid to be good year round and they will be. Raise them to be good at Christmas just to be rewarded and ignore the rest of the year and they will be good at Christmas only. I'm all for raising kids to behave year round, but let's get to the heart of what you are asking for.
