My mom asked me if it would be ok to wear a pant suit instead of a dress for my wedding the other day. Which is perfectly fine with me, because I know that my mom would feel more comfortable in a pant suit than she would in a dress. But now I am having a hard time finding pant suits that are nice enough for a wedding. Does anyone know of any designers that make pants suits that are dressy enough for weddings? Or any websites I can get on to look at some? I have looked, but have not had any luck so far.

David's Bridal has some wonderful suits made particularly for mothers of the bride that don't want to wear dresses. Check them out at http://www.davidsbridal.com

I think it sounds very sweet, and you are very smart to realize your limits and not want to spend a lot of money. The small apartment might be a problem though. Why can't you have the reception at the park where the ceremony is held? You can hook the iPod up to a speaker so the sound will carry around the park. My daughter's wedding was in a park recently. There was a legion hall across the street, and we had the reception there, but the weather was nice enough we could have just held the reception in the park. It was a very beautiful wedding. Fancy stuff isn't necessary, and silk flowers are very nice because they don't wilt and you will still have them years from now. Your dress sounds beautiful, and nothing wrong with having a special wedding dress even if you don't have a lot of other expensive things. What really matters is the vows and everybody having a nice time, and a loving relationship with your family and friends. Good for you! Congratulations!
