I would go with a Treo with Palm OS. If you have a SIM card you should pick now a Treo 650, or wait until December when the Treo 680 rolls out. It is expected that the Treo 680 will be available at around US $ 200.00, and free with some sort of voice or data plans. Why a Treo with Palm operating system and not some other brand?
1. Thousands of applications available, many of them free. Not so can be said of WIndows Mobile or Symbian OS phones.
2. You can use it as a full featured PDA, phone, MP3 player, movie video player, camera, gaming device.
3. Access to Word, Excel, Power Point files, along with Adobe Acrobat files.
4. Can be configured to play many types of audio files: MP3, Wav, ringtones, etc.
5. Can be configured to play many types of video files: MP4, Divx, MPEG, Avi, and more.
6. You can use SD and MMC cards with up to 2 GB capacity to hear/view music, videos, files, etc.
7. Can connect to other phones and PC's via Bluetooth or InfraRed (IR)
8. It is a SO COOL device!!!

If you are looking for the best overall PDA phone combo. I would go with a Treo or the HP iPAQ hw6920/hw6925. The HP has a built in GPS and it is only available in Windows Mobile. The Treo if you did not know is available with either Palm or Windows Mobile depending on the provider you go with. The new Treos are due out next month. I carry a Treo 650 now and I will probably upgrade to the 680 next month.

You can look at I-mate Jas jar. Got plenty of features and is reasonably priced.
