Am I the only one?

Its like happy crying at what I've done in the past year and looking forward to the new year coming in.

My hubby thinks its funny and no matter where I am, how drunk I am I still do it!

Yes I do, I can't help it no matter how hard I try not to, its just a very emotional time of the year, you think of things past and the loved ones who are no longer with you, I just put it down to a release of all the things that have gone wrong and a new start, my crying at new year is just a happy cry too, maybe were just nice sentimental people that's all, some old lady once told me a long time ago if you cry on new years eve you will cry all the year through, good cos I would hate to be without my emotions wouldn't you.

It's like a mental summation, a quick moment of reflection and a realization that it is finally over, for better or worse.

I completely understand why it is a emotional moment, many people feel that way. As for me, I don't feel much of anything anymore when the New Year becomes a reality, iit seemed a bigger deal when i was a kid. Now, it's like I just enjoy the moment for what it is.

In a past life (as a young woman probably in the 1700's in England) you lost your lover at sea. They rang the bells to toll the loss and there was weeping throughout the village. That memory has stayed within you and that is why you cry at the sound of the bells.
