You might actually be better off talking to your vet. He or she won't be able to treat you if there IS a problem, but they will have more experience with health issues that can occur through close contact with animals and can advise you accordingly, (ie., whether a doctor's appointment is required).
Don't rely on the varied opinions you'll get here, (ranging from sarcastic to overly paranoid). Speak to to a professional who will KNOW the answer. Of course, if you're keeping an "illegal exotic" without the required paperwork, that would explain why you're asking here rather than seeking professional advice straight away.
You shouldn't need a vet's appointment; just phone them and ask for their advice.
And, seriously, consider rehoming the monkey; its actions are not a sign of affection. Such primate behavioural problems are often due to one monkey being kept alone and are a sign of its frustration. I'm not suggesting you get another ... but it would almost certainly be happier if you offered it to a local zoo or wildlife collection where it can be with more of its own species. Again, ask for advice about rehoming the monkey from your vet.
If you end up none the worse for this episode, consider yourself fortunate - but you might not be so lucky next time, (as the monkey's aim impoves). Faeces in the eyes might be FAR more of a hazard due to the risk of parasites. Do something positive now (for both of you) - before it's too late.

Yes, you could catch disease from having any kind of feces in your mouth. The chances are not high, but there is still a chance. I would simply wait and see if you feel any different as nothing can be done until you show signs of whatever it is you might catch.
Also, it seems that you monkey made need some behavioral correction and this can only be achieved through you spending a good amount of time training it.
Oh, I would keep my mouth closed when in the basement!

You really should have done your research BEFORE you bought this little guy. Monkeys are not an ideal pet for a variety of reasons, this being one of them. People think that they are cute & should behave just like little humans. They are not human! I honestly think that you made a mistake. As for whether or not this little guy's poo can make you sick? Sure it could. I wouldn't worry though unless you started feeling ill or exhibited symptoms. Maybe you should find a rescue group for your monkey. He'd be much happier when he has other monkeys to socialize with. Primates are very social animals & need to interact with other primates. You cannot give this litle guy what he needs emotionally & his behavior will continue to get worse until he is happy.

Monkeys aren't pets. And to legally have one, you'd probably need to get a permit. To get a permit they usually require people have a clue about the animal, his care, and in this case disease control/treatment.

I'm pretty sure you cant get any diseases from it. Especially if it isnt a lot. If it would make you feel better, go to the doctor. Or just call them.

i have to agree with jodi g. however a little known fact is that monkeys carry diseases that are contagious to humans. AIDS started in monkey in Africa. definitely go to the Dr. if he tells you not to worry, see another DR. this is coming from a medical prof.
