i want to buy some uprated pick ups. id like to know the difference between tex mex, 50's and 69 pickups.

First of all.......the Tex Mex Strat is the signature strat of Jimmie Vaughan.....and that sound is awesome.......second of all if I had to choose and found them available, not recreations but the real deal I would go with the 50's or 69 single coil pickups.....much rawer sound..

The difference is in the size of the pickup coils and the way they are wired in. This gives different ranges of sounds. It all depends on the style of music you want to play.

I swapped mine in my strat copy for couple of lace sensors, like eric clapton's
