Brother, sister and their families comes from different parts of the States and we all meet at mom's house. This is the time we have a full house. It becomes noisy with everyone talking at the same time and laughing and catching up on each other's lives. The house smells so good with all the food and we would have apple cider. Mom has a long table where all the adults sit and all the children sit together at another table. When it is time to eat, we all sit down, making sure everyone is at the tables, my brother-in-law, who is a pastor or one of my sister, who is a minister, would say grace. After grace, one dish is picked up by the person at the head of the table, which is usually dad, then it is passed down to the next person and so on, until everyone get everything they want in their plates. When everyone is satisfied with what they have in their plates, we all start eating at the same time. There is usually some talking during that time and when we are all finished eating, all the plates and such are removed from the tables and put to wash. We later all settle in the living room area and that is where the entertainment starts. Everyone wants to show their talents. Some would sing a song and others would do a play or whatever other talent they wish to show off. It is a lot of fun because the family is together and laughing and feeling loved. After everyone is through showing off their talents, we would play music and dance. Later in the night we would sit together and look a movies. It is usually the time of the year that holds the most memories. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

I remeber sitting in the back of a car, with a warm cherry pie on my lap, listening to the snow squish underneath the tires. When we stepped into my Great Aunts house it would be warm and the smell apple cider and cinnomon would fill my nose. The TV would be showing the parade and My Great Uncle would be snoring in the recliner.
We would have a wonderful feast of Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed potatoes, corn, peas (which I hated) and my step mother always made a jello mold. My father always said this pun-I eat my peas with honey, I've done it all my life, sure it tastes quite funny but the do stick to my knife. We would all laugh, again.
After dinner we would have pumpin pie with whipped cream or cherry pie a la mode. Then later, after we had all relaxed on the couch unable to speak listening to Christmas music we would have the best part of the day. Turkey sandwiches! I love Thanksgiving!
