BRISTOL CITY beating bristol rovers after years of defeats.
with 4 minutes to go rovers missed a penalty, the ball went upfield and hit lowie donaue in the face and went in.
but that was enough the jinx was over.

I have several:
* Watford beating Leeds 3-0 in last year's play-off final. The icing on the cake of a very exciting season
* England winning 5-1 in Germany in 2001 - an unforgettable night
* Beckham's free-kick against Greece in 2001 - we finished top of the group, but a year earlier it was all doom and gloom for the national team, and we didn't look like qualifying at all.
* Liverpool beating AC Milan in 2005 Champion's League Final
* Liverpool beating West Ham in 2006 FA Cup Final
* England beating a brilliant Argentina team in 2002 World Cup - hanging on for dear life to a 1-0 lead...the most nervous I have ever been watching a football match
* Greece producing a real shock to win Euro 2004
* England beating Holland at their own game in Euro 96 - 4-1 but it was England playing the 'total football.'

Being an Arsenal fan, it was being two-nil down to Chelsea, fifteen minutes to go and Nwankwo Kanu coming on and scoring a hat-trick.
Also, Sunderland vs Newcastle and St. James Park back in 2001? Sunderland won 2-1 and it was raining so hard, and the boys showed real passion.

'and united have won it!'
surely people can't say that a match that went to a penalty shoot-out was the greatest football moment? manchester united, in 99, completed the treble and didn't have to go to penalties, a fantastic achievement - who the hell considers a penalty shoot-out a 'great-moment'? you should finish a team off. liverpool would be top of the table if every game was decided on penalties
