Plastic accordion rainhats - when did you last wear one (if ever), or see someone you knew in one?

Saw a lady of about 30 wearing one earlier today. First time for ages, first time I'd seen anyone under about 70 in one for years on end. When I was a child everyone's sister, mum and aunt used them. Are they still around?

For some reason images of old crotchety women buying fruit at an outdoor market is what springs to mind.

And to answer you question, yes they are in fact still around.

That's extremely unfortunate about the woman in her 30s; God knows what she'll be wearing by the time she's elderly.
