I am coming up for 18 weeks pregnant and have started to feel my baby move in the last few days. But the movments were not flutters, but kicks! I'm sure I feel little kicks but I've read it's too early to feel kicks yet. What do you think?

no its not too early.. you usually feel gentle flutters from 15 weeks from 18 weeks you feel the stronger kicks but its more like the popping of bubbles about 19 -22 weeks is when you feel the stronger kicks i think

Congratulations on your pregnancy, normally the first movements you feel are flutters or gassy, And it is possible to feel them around the 18 week mark but normally not felt until 20-22 weeks during a first pregnancy. During a second or third pregnancy its more common to feel it about the 18 week mark.

Flutters are kicks they just get stronger. so that's why they would feel like kicks. You may be further then you thought but you will find out more when you have your routine ultrasound between 18-20 weeks. During the ultrasound they will give you a more accurate due date. Congratulations and you know better then anybody your body so if your feeling the kicks then you will know because you get this warm tingle to your heart when it happens. Its amazing so enjoy every moment. Good luck and best wishes.

No I do not think it is too early to feel the baby kicking. I'm a mother of three and a grandmother of one. I started to feel my oldest child kick at about 16 weeks. My doctor also told me that it was too early to feel an actual "kick" but when i was on the table and the doc was touching my belly the baby kicked very hard to let him know that he was wrong. Then the doc started to do some tests because he thought I was further along than i was. My baby was born 10 days PAST my due date.

No its not too early. I started feeling my baby at 16 weeks and she hasnt stopped moving yet. This is my 4th baby and I have honestly never felt flutters like they say. I always feel the kicks right away. Like popcorn. With in 2 weeks the strength of the kicks have gotten alot harder.

Aw congratulations.
You can feel the first little flutters as early as 15 -18 weeks. So I'm guessing it was your little baby having a little move about. When mine first moved it didn't feel like a flutter either, thought it was wind or summat. But the more it does it and the stronger you feel it you'll realise what you felt was baby.
Hope you have a great pregnancy and you & baby are fine :)

Well I felt movement at 12 weeks, the little butterfly "kicks" but I was really thin and they say the less you weigh the more movement you feel. You are probably feeling movement at 18 weeks do you realize you are halfway through the pregnancy? 41/2 months. Enjoy, You will never experience anything else like this in your life, well unless you get pregnant again of course.

I find that different people feel their babies differently. Sometimes it depends on the mother's size. I felt flutters at about 16 weeks, so I figure that if you think you feel kicks you probably are! I mean, what else could it be? They couldn't say that was gas!
All the best with your baby!

Every pregnancy is different-with my daughter,I felt kicks at 14 weeks! I swore to the doctor this couldn't be right-it was too early-but he just shook his head and said,'Strong baby!' You definitely know the kicks. Sounds like you've got a healthy future football player there!

Anywhere between 16 and 22 weeks is perfectly normal to feel anything from quickening to kicks. Congratulations!!

Our 4th started kicking as early as that, even though the so-called experts said he couldn't.

He still liked to kick his legs after he was born and only grew out of it when he started walking.
