I'm just going on Bollywood movies i've seen..
It seems the Grandmother or Didi/Dadi? is the head of the family.
-then the father
-then the eldest son
-the daughter in law is the lowest in the family

um..... usually the one who can find a job and make the money but if they both do the mother and father are equal but the father pays for everything.
