I had a course of electrolosis and a few day later the treated area (where the hair grew out) scabbed over. It looked silly, I had red dots. If this is what it looks like than how do people cope if they have electrolosis on their face?

i used to be an electrolysist and this shouldnt have happened. It sounds to me like the therapist that treated you either used too high a current, treated the area too frequently or 'zapped' the follicle for too long. If this is done the area can scar and obviously this poses an aesthetic risk if you have it done on the face by someone less experienced. Electrolysis can be effective but it is very much dependent on the cause of the problem. I would say to anyone that is thinking of having it done to be very sure that it isnt a hormonal problem or the chances of it being successful are very slim.
If you continue to have it done use a good vitamin E cream to help it heal quicker and arnica if the area bruises...and as was already advised, dont pick it!

I get red dots when I shave! I always wanted electrolysis...

Did you get a care pamphlet for the treated area? I'd prolly just allow it to heal and use a moisturiser... if its still not better in a couple of weeks go back to where you had the treatment and show them.

I had that with laser hair removal and freaked out. I just kept myself indoors or covered my face when outdoors with a scarf. Keep the area moist with aloe gel or vitamin e gel to help it regenerate. Eventually (one week max) scab falls off on its own and there will be no scars. DO NOT pick them off or you will scar!!!
