I was raised by my grandmother. She never allowed us to use those words. If we had, we probably would have found ourselves on the floor. I'm 25 and I still don't use those words.

The word "hate: was frowned upon in our house and we were taught not to lie so we would never need to be called a "liar".

No. My family used 'hate' and 'liar' all the time when they were joking about things. My mom didn't like for me to swear but she really flipped out the day I said "Jesus, Mary and Joseph". I was about 6 and I had no clue why I shouldn't have said it. She apologized for yelling and went on about how it was her fault for not having taken me to church.

I was taught good/bad context about using those words. VERY rarely did my parents curse. My mom said "sh**" once, came up to my bedroom 30 minutes later and apologized. She said "your friends might use that word, you might even say it sometimes but you shouldn't hear it at home". The worst I ever heard her say after that was "damn it". And she was really mad.

I was raised to belive that hate is a wasted emotion and that liars will come to no good.

Yes I was, we had to come up with creative things to say.
Such as:
Hate = I truly dislike.
Liar = untruth full.
Stupid = unknowing
Hope this helps.
