Liverpool is a great night out anytime but for new year Glasgow is a must. Don't let anyone put you off they usually haven't even visited the cities.

I'd go to Glasgow for the new Year, you won't be able to move in Liverpool for the New Year celebrations as Liverpool likes a good night out!

Liverpool, great to see the pubs clubs etc empty out into the streets to see in New Year.Brill time.
I'm sure Glasgow would be brill as well as they would celabrate Hogmany correctly. Make sure you have some coal & salt for 1st footing in both places.
