Do high pitched possum deterrents work?

Here in Australia, possums can be a real pest, even in the back yard. There are lots of suggested ways of deterring them, and more recently, a device which emits a high pitched noise is being marketed. Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they work?

yes . ask anyone from Melbourne who lived in Fitzroy around the Edinburgh gardens area , apparently these deterrents indeed do just that .
