It'll work just fine as long as you have the correct drivers.

Also, having a USB 2 webcam will be pointless if you only have USB 1 ports on your computer as it will only work at USB 1 speeds

A 1.1 webcam will work fine, but you could use the 2.0 version if had one already.

It'll work fine, so long as you DO NOT use your USB to attach to your modem (Broadband or Land-line)
The USB adapter will be overwhelmed with data and will not work, or will work with very poor results.
You should change to an ethernet modem if possible when using a USB webcam.

no, you dont really need usb2!
