Try a product from Sam's Club called OdoBan. It disinfects and also takes out the odor. Smells like Eucalyptus. I have 4 boys and I used it on everything. Football gear, hockey gear, etc.

Good luck

If it's cleaned up good and washed sometime regular household spray like "Fabreze" should work. You might try "Lyosol" spray. Vinegar will make your house smell like a dill pickle.

actually a bleaching agent works best for removing the odor, but be careful you don't bleach the carpet.

Try vinegar. Drench it, leave it, then re-shampoo.

Maybe even mixing vinegar and lemon juice.
