FOR THE FIRST TIME in history, the Major League Baseball season will begin on a continent other than North America. The season kicks off with a two-game series on March 29 and 30 between the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

The reason the World Series is called the World Series is that it originally was sponsored by The New York World. This has not been proven.

Where are they starting? I agree with Michele, why is it the world series if it is just played here in the states. Is it because all the players are from around the world and hardly from the states. So to be POLITICALly correct we call it that.
