Does "texter" to mean "writer or sender" exist in English?

well, i dont think it has up to recently, but i can see how with text messaging, a person could be called a texter , english changes to keep up with modern usage,
ps: i myself would of referred to it as sender of text messages

Yes - it makes perfect sense. However - "texter" always means the person who sends text messages (on a cell phone). We *do* use the word texter in AZ, US.

Your headline says "the Malaysian police are now hunting someone who sends bad information via text messaging."
