hi,
Please tell me why 'would' is used in the sentence below. why not 'will'?
However I would always use my laptop as it is more
flexible and provides better functionality.

Please help. Thank you.

Would suggests the occurrence for needing the laptop has not happened yet. What ever the project being discussed is, it is still in the planning stages. Will indicates a decision being made.

BTW: poor grammar. HOWEVER should not be used to start a sentence, and is unnecessary in the above statement. Better written could be "I would always use my laptop, however; because it is more flexible and provides better functionality."

If you are going to use 'will', the meaning is that you will definenetly use the laptop no matter what, " i will always' - there is no other option other than always using the laptop.

If you say 'would', it means that on general you would usually use the laptop, but there can be instances where u might not. It contains a possibility of some other, lets say a desktop comp.

So its upon the person talking, which meaning he wants to give out. hope u understand

'Would' indicates a choice, saying that you may or may not use a lap top. If you say I will then it says that you are going to definitely use a lap top.
