it depends on the software that you are using. all the softwares have different controls. In windows XP ctrl x is for cut, ctrl c is for copy, ctrl v is for paste, ctrl s is for save. rest I dont know.

Cntl + V Paste

it means u have to use both keys simultaneously like
hold on control key and THEN press z now release both keys
or
hold on control key and THEN press a now releasee both keys
the combination has different meaning in different programs.... for example in microsoft word
ctrl a means one word to left
ctrl z means undo
