I thought this is what Americans do best. Boost yourself by trying to lower the other guy, right?

This has become the standard political ploy of the "modern age." First you abstract your opponent and then paint this abstraction with ugly colors and dishonorable words that may easily be remembered. If you are successful, vast numbers of people will take it in, and that abstraction, like bleeding heart liberal or cold hearted conservative, will continue to associate these ugly and dishonorable attributes to your victim endlessly, unless someone effectively neutralizes them again. This is the low road of debate used by those of little faith in themselves or their audience. Rather than trusting in the persuasive power of their thoughts, slander is used instead of persuasion. Unfortunately, this is all too effective today, leaving the public ill informed, and armed only with empty abstraction to debate with.

Go and look at the forum page of this site. People are complaining about the multiple right wing propagandist that Yoda is talking about. They right now have over 200 multiple profiles to harass and spew hatred and insults to other people. I am sure this question is full of them right now too since he monitors this page 24/7. I live in London, and it isn't my fault Yahoo combined all of the English speaking pages together. We don't agree with Tony Blair let alone George Bush policies. The American vote Nov 7th displayed the American support for Bush and his Administration. The questions and answers on this political forum isn't the majority thought through out the English speaking free Nations. This hacker needs to be removed for good.

Anyone who makes disparaging remarks about another person or group of people based on nationalism or ethnicity is guilty of what you are accusing "Americans" of, including YOU. People are individuals. Some "Americans" are "super patriots" who behave as if the rest of the world is inferior, and some genuinely believe that "All men (and women) are created equal", and treat others with respect and dignity. Prejudice, such as YOU have expressed, demonstrates a lazy mental and moral character - regardless of the nationality and ethnicity of the person who practices it.

Its a shame, but there are about 10 individuals on this board who use various aliases to point game. they hurl insults out at people, then use another alias to answer their own question and give themselves 10 points. Its a terrible shame. Yahoo has been making it more and more difficult for the average person to chat or debate issues because these idiots choose to, instead of proferring a debate on relevant issues, use the opportunity to harrass or belittle others. They are ruining this free service, and Yahoo will undoubtedly do away with it soon because of them. SHIRAZ and his sicophantic friends are at the heart of this, and several of us have been reporting his every post in order to control the situation before Yahoo takes it away from all of us. But then I receive critique from his sicophants for denying SHIRAZ "freedom of speech". Well, free speech never included the right to yell fire in a crowded theater, or utter infamitory remarks without penalty. Eventually everyone who wished to use this service for the purposes intended will abandon it to the idiots who have no better use of their time but to pick fights and belch out insults. Shame. And I disagree with the post above mine, because insulting and berating others is not "super-patriotic", its super-idiotic".

No. By the way I am not American. Do American's like hurting others? Didn't know that... :s

I would say that even if someone is better than you in anything, challenge it, and if you can't beat him/her, just be friends, and learn from each other.

That's what I do.

Satisfaction for insulting and hurting other people is a desease. Americans should treat other nationalities humanely with equality.
