The local news this morning said it was going to be "the 5th and last." Is it true?

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is in pre-production, and is scheduled for November 21, 2008. They have said that there will be a seventh movie.

That's an odd statement for a news program to make, especially since all you have to do is go to ANY Harry Potter website to know that there are 7 books. Fans are waiting on pins and needles for that 7th and final book to come out, and there are already predictions that book 7 will be the best-selling first day novel of all time, even though the book is not finished being written yet! Will the last 2 books be made into movies? Hollywood would be dumb not to, there is clearly a LOT of money to be made in them, what with the fans willing to pour their money into the Harry Potter experience!
Perhaps the news program has confused the "last book" with the "last movie". I've noticed that most newscasters are not always the smartest, and this little detail might have been a little confusing to your local newscasters! LOL

No. There will be 7 books in the Harry Potter series (they now published 6 of them). (Hopefully) There will also be 7 movies.

Yes, it's supposed to be the last one.
The children who are playing the roles will be *too old* pretty soon and will no longer be able to keep doing it. But, if they get some new kids, then they can continue to make the movies maybe.

I heard it will be the last movie with the original actors from the previous films except dumboldore of course he is always changing,but I hope they have another film at least to match the books.
