I have just done the washing and had a pair of silk black trousers and a few yellow and white tops in as well.

My trouser has NEVER run before so i thought it would be fine but it has run into my yellow and white tops :'(
What am i going to do?
All my new vibrant tops have now turned into a muddy white and yellow colour.

Does anyone know how to get the vibrant yellow and white colours back before it stays a permanently muddy colour??

Don't dry the tops. The heat of the dryer will permanently set the color. I remember seeing something at the grocery store in the laundry section that may help. There is some kind of sheet you put in the washer to attract the dye that may run off dark colored objects. Try finding that and washing the tops again in COLD water with the washer sheet.

Your yellow tops, I can't help you with, but color remover (sold alongside the dyes in the non-food section of your grocery or drugstore) will take the excess black dye out of the white tops. If you don't mind taking the color out of the yellow tops you could use it on them as well.

Color remover is harsh stuff; it's stinky and caustic, but if you're reasonably careful it does an excellent job of removing dyes from clothing. Just be sure to follow the instructions on the box carefully.

Take any dark colors out, wash the bright tops again with double the regular amount of soap. Rinse twice. DO NOT dry them until the stains are gone. I think somebody makes a product that will take it out- it's new and I can't remember the name of it, but it should be on grocery store shelves.

Try oxy clean for laundry. I had the same problem once and pre-soaking and washing in oxy clean twice removed it.
