Well! Harry, it's all to do with dear Mr. Howard. When we go to work we earn a wage, and we pay tax on that wage i.e. Income tax! Now! when you give your wife the shopping money, she has to pay purchase tax on the same dollar you've already paid income tax on! Right! so double dipping is the name of the game! It applies to vehicle registration, mortgages, they can change the contract and increase your repayments just by putting the interest rates up! all your bills that you pay! 10%! right across the board! So your poor old dollar gets a right flogging! Doesn't it? And Mr. Howard government has their hand in every ones pocket! So the real worth of the dollar is about 40cents! That's why we live from wage packet to wage packet! But! If you are in business, then it works for you! Business men charge everything they buy to the business! Cars! goods! That way they pay no tax! because business purchases are tax free! A nice little system they've got for themselves, Hey? And if they want to put their prices up? Well, why not? nobody stops them, do they? But! If you wish to put your wages up! There are Federal workplace laws about that! It's called the sack!!! I hope I have not spoilt your day! lol. Have a good day!

Too many people fall into the trap fo "instant gratification". Why save the money to buy something when you can have it right now by putting it on a credit card. Then the payments come in and the paycheck barely covers the minimum payments. The solution is easy...cut up the cards, pay off the bills and use cash...save up for what you want. People are even putting groceries on the card now and paying interest on what they eat!!!!!!! Not smart.

Because the income stays the same but prices and taxes keep on increasing.

Getting rid of the incredibly unfair council tax would help (we pay £160 a month cos we live in a quiet village even though the house is 2 bed, mid terrace housing assoc) and stopping the tv licence (we could pay for the channel if we wanted it. I pay for the BBC but I never watch any of the channels).

Maybe it's time you learn how to budget your income and cut off the unnecessary expenses. Seriously, if you are living paycheck to paycheck you're having some real trouble. Time to start reading Personal Finance for Dummies.

Even animals do the same thing. It takes a person to evolve consciously into a 'human' being to really enjoy life beyond just survival & procreation !

We are being turned into consumers. I lost my phone a while ago ... i felt completly lost and I was really annoyed as I couldn't retrieve any of the numbers. but after 2-3 days, people started calling me either at work or at home ... and i was left un-annoyed .. I didn't replace it till now ...
We are all slaves to the fact that we NEED to consume, we need to get the latest phone, the latest I-pod ... a better car. But if you think about it, there'll never be better! it'll just keep going & going
