i am personally getting tired of the philp rivers comparisons..eli is a better qb...rivers has the best RB in the league...granted manning has barber, but as a giants fan, i can admit barber isnt in the same league as LT...also..rivers has a better o-line than manning...rivers has a better TE in antonio gates than shockey who hasnt had a good season since his rookie year..and plaxico burress cant catch a ball thrown to him...giants are stuck with a #2 wide receiver as their #1 and the rest of their receivers are #4 guys at best...eli is not lacking skills, since he has already shown what he can done...he is having a few off weeks and since he is on a main team like the giants, it gets magnified..i dont even think you can blame it on inexperience..he just has to start making the right moves at the right time and having his receivers and line help him out a little more

I think both. Inexperience is a major factor but maybe he just doesn't have the skills needed to be a starter. I know that sounds a little crazy seeing how he's had some success but it might be true. There is a lot of pressure on him as well. His coach is not a very forgiving man plus there is the pressure of NY. I have to believe that the Giants wide outs are vastly overrated and that of course is a big issue to any QB. The NFC East is proving to be pretty weak. If a team like the Cowboys who really looked terrible at the beginning of the season are now the odds on favorite to win the division that sends a clear message to the rest of the conference. Eli also has the added pressure of being Peyton's little brother and that has to weigh on him as well. He certainly is not nearly as talented as Peyton and at times has trouble reading defenses.

I think there are a lot of things to take into account.
One of the biggest obstacles is the inexperience. He's still a young quarterback. Not to mention, the team is literally collasping around him. All of the injuries, Coughlin not making the best decisions (aka: stop passing to Plax and incorporate Shockey a little more since well, Shockey can catch).
And even though I don't think he shows it, I think there is a lot of pressure on him to be just like Peyton. Peyton is a phenomenal quarterback. He's smashed records, and he's got a pretty good team around him (minus the defense). Sure, he hasn't won a Superbowl yet, but that doesn't mean it won't happen. I think being constantly compared against Peyton must get to him a little bit.

Damn, dude, i wish i knew.
Im dying over here with this guy. Ive defended him to no end, written to Gary Myers and Filip Bondy of the New York Daily News, telling them to lay off Manning, that he's young, he;s learning, blah blah blah.
Now Eli's making me look stupid. I was at the Chicago game and he looked like a rookie. Last night, he looked like a person who's never stepped foot onto a football field before.
Im thinking he's a little too laid back. Yeah he's unflappable, but it looks like he's not even fazed by GOOD plays. He needs a little fire, and needs a good game to get him out of this funk.
I think he's got the talent, and is seriously smart. But when the team's morale is low with 10 key player injuries (need i say them?), and your other key guys are dropping/fumbling passes, it doesnt help your morale. And being a professional athlete in New York subjects you to unbelievable smack from the press (Can anyone say Alex Rodriguez?).
I think he'll shake it against the Titans. If not, the Giants' season is waaaay over.

Eli is just the worst QB in history. i have been saying this since last year. He throws constant interceptions and only 1-2 good throws a game. He sucks. The giants need to throw him in the trash and do it now so they can get someone else started for next year without tiki. I AM A GIANTS FAN there is no comparison for how bad Eli is. I dont care what the rest of the team or coaching is like. he throws worse than high school QBs. No excuses, he just sucks.

1. Toomer's out for the year
2. Whittfield chokes guys insted of blocking them
3. Coaching staff makes good adjustments at halftime, but that ususally means they weren't well prepared at the beginning
4. Eli is VERY INACCURATE even on short passes, if he can turn some incompletions into just a check down for a 2 or 3 yard gain, they could turn 3rd & 7 into 3rd & 4.

He is too arogant and living in his big brothers shadow. He plays with no heart or emotion and it is hard to win when you just go out there to collect a paycheck and really don't care.
He is good and the talent if there, he just needs to start caring about winning and not about how pretty and perfect he looks in his uniform and in his commercials.

Rivers has less experience than he does..he is doing great in SD even considering he sat 2 years on the bench...ELI has the supporting cast..an all pro RB..TE..a good WR in Plaxico..he can only put this on himself..it has to be mostly mental..he has the arm to play in the league

I think it's both. People are also starting to realize that Eli is NOT the second coming of Peyton.
