when i was young, a robin came into our house and a week later someone in the house died. I heard then that if a robin came into your house, then someone in your family is going to die And now I'm freaking out as one came into my house this morning. I just hope it's not true

I'm not superstitious and don't actually believe in old wives tales. It just that the robin never came into my house before and when it did, it reminded me of what happened when i was young. Like you says Delta, it could have been a coincidence. Thanks to some of you for your answer, it is reassuring and to others, there was no need for the sarky answers,

Of course it's not true.... But just to be safe, be sure to tell Batman to leave the Boy Wonder outside should he decide to visit.

The devils advocate would say yes it's true. In truth though, the Robin is like the Blackbird in so much as they will always look for food anywhere... given half the chance. And by the law of averages someone dies every second of every day...so work that one out for yourself.

The devils advocate ..my own father died a few days after a bird came into my house. So there you go..but do not worry..just think about the law of averages.

Get out more dear!

No its not true Robins come to my house all the time for food if it was true my whole family would have been wiped out by now. Robins have probably been to your house thousands of times when your not in and no one has died so everyone will be fine. Robins are so cute thats why they are on Christmas cards and stuff they wouldnt be if they were the bearers of death would they.

Freak not friend
This is the story of the beautiful little bird
ROBINS
Today i saw a robin,it was sitting in a tree,
It was the spirit of my gran, who had come to check on me,
Now why on earth would you think that, is what i hear you say,
But if you settle in your seats,I,ll tell you about a day.
It was a long long time ago.thousands of years have gone past,
Spirit and the robins, they made a deal that lasts.
They would like to visit loved ones so they know that we are still there,
But we cant suddenly appear, cos it wouldgive them a mighty scare,
So if from time to time we can use you,we,ll give you a bright red breast,
So they know its us come to see them, and you,ll stand out from the rest,
You will always look beautiful, andthey will write about you in verse and rhyme,
They will paint and keep your picture ,especially at christmas time,
The robins they did all agree, and a deal it was struck,
So when you see a robin ,you know its more than luck.

You have just had a pleasant swiftly passing thought from someone who loves and cares. No nasty motive just a message of love from a beautiful little bird telling you, you are not alone in this crazy world of ours

Too many years ago, whilst living in North Wales, a robin used to come in through the open kitchen window and stand on the windowsill looking curiously about whilst waiting for a tidbit. Shame if there is such a superstition about such human friendly birds. Anyway, thought I’d let you know that was years ago and I’m still about in body if not mind. Good Luck.

Its just an old wives tale from the Victorian times, those people were obsessed with superstition and lived their life by superstition and if you believe everything those old wives said then you would never get out of your bed in a morning, the only dying will be from you worrying yourself to death about some stupid old superstition, move on from it and get back to living your life and good luck.

Sorry but it is true if a Robbin comes into your house you will die. Of course if a Robbin never comes in your house you will also die. But not to worry it is not the end. I have spoken with many happy dead people. Some of them tell me it is quite pleasant on the other side. They are at last free off all pain. God bless. Kisses Betty.

No superstition can actually be called true. What about walking under a ladder, opening an umbrella indoors, breaking a mirror etc? They are no different than "old wives tales"

Everyone dies eventually, whether a robin flies in to your house or not. So, although not related in any way what so ever, it is true, that if a robin comes in to your house, someone in your family will eventually die. Possibly even you.

No it is not.
All my family would have been dead by now, since I used to feed a robin in the kitchen for a whole winter.
It came in every day, and we are still all alive.
