That is a line that is rapidly wearing thin. I live overseas and happen to be American so I have seen myself what you are talking about. We are such a melting pot that we can appeal to everybody. But it is not like it once was. You dont see alot of American goods that are made in america. All your jobs got shipped elsewhere. And the quality is not as good as it used to be when MADE IN AMERICA meant a sign of durable reliable goods.

You know what, I am an American living overseas, and I have asked this same exact question, time and time again!
I know someone who rants on and on about president Bush, the American mentality, the American culture, so much, that he even does so during holidays and family gatherings like Christmastime! Why spend so much time and energy on hating American mentality and culture and way of life? Why waste all that time?
Then, he turns to the next person and says that he is sending all his kids to nursing school for the sole purpose of eventually acquiring a working visa to become nurses in the U.S. end then eventually acquiring green cards! ha! It's so profoundly confusing and silly, that I often look at him, and tilt my head because I just do not understand him! Ridiculous!
Why do I think he's like that? Well, I think that he focuses so much, and picks so much on anything and everything negative about the American people that he possibly can, but still, it doesn't outweigh the fact that he is aware that his children will have a better future, better lives, better lifestyle, when they get to America! He thinks that if only he were born and raised there, if only his kids were born and raised in America, they'd be so much better off. In short, it's,like, "I can do America better than those no-good Americans!"

America did not achieve all this starting from zero. it acquired the civilizations of the contemprory and past generations of the whole world. America is a part of the world and accordingly I think all humans should feel proud for the new discoveries made by America . People actually do not hate America, it is the behavior of the American politicians the people hate! This includes the unauthorised use of force against the poor, protecting criminals such as ( Israel) and punishing innocents
(such as in Palestine, Afghanistan and Sudan). It is the unfairness and the double standards in stances. If you have the power, you don't have the right to sqeeze the truth using "veto" in all instances? and to weigh things only according to what you will benifit from them. Every body can see that at least one hundred innocent persons are killed every day in Iraq? At the beginning Saddam was the one to blame but it is America now! What is the difference then?

I like Americans, I don't like Bush!
I don't mean to contradict you here but I like Australian and English culture more. I buy their goods. Also stuff made from China is great and usually cheap.
Now while I love visiting America I usually go there to remind me how great Australia really is. Australia really is the the best and lucky country. I love Australia.
After reading your question for a second time, I regard it as being arrogant. I think your up yourself big time if you think everyone buys American products. I hope not all Americans think like you.
What your saying is we are the best, we have the best of everything. You got to be bloody kidding me mate.
An action will always create an reaction. You say Everyone has hated America for years? Well here is a question for you:
What was the action to create this reaction? And don't say people hate us for our freedom!

We consume different american goods, 'cause we don't have anything else. We're afraid to follow our own culture or ashamed to do it. And the world is overcrowded with american stuff.

Given the level of ignorance revealed in your question, it's clear that people elsewhere know far more about your culture than you do about theirs.
In other words, they have a clue what they're talking about.
You don't.

I think they're just jealous, where I live everyone and his brother want to go to America but at the same time act like Americans are "stupid" and "pathetic". then I think they need to stay where they are.

Because they think we are self-centered and put our country first and the rest of the world second and are basically ignorant about what happens in other countries. And I'm sorry, but they're right
