Was just wondering how much prior knowledge you need of music programmes and stuff in order to study it. - I'm from a more performance - based background.
Thanks

You probably will need a certain amount of prior knowledge - the entry requirements for the degree course at Bath Spa Uni, for example, include you submitting an audio portfolio on CD, demonstrating your use of different software packages. They usually ask that you have qualifications in a related subject first, such as a BTEC in Music Tech, unless you can prove your experience outside of education.

Other unis may start their courses at a more basic level, you should be able to check out entry requirements at www.ucas.ac.uk

It may be a good idea to an evening class or part time course at BTEC level first, to see if the subject is really for you.
