Depends on what countires laws you are referring to. In Canada, the break structure for an eight hour shift is as follows:

10 minutes paid break
30 minute unpaid lunch
10 minute paid break

UK law states that you must have an uninterupted break of no-less than 20mins per day if you work six hours or more. That doesn't mean for EVERY six hours that you work - this is being contested by unions in courts.

Health and safety law - which I'm not too sure about - does say that you need a break from a computer every 2 hours. Hopefully another answerer will confirm this! If you suffer headaches due to the extended time at your computer, and you have brought this to the attention of your manager/employer, they have a duty of care to you to supply prescription glasses and ensure adequate time away from your workstation to avoid harm.

I'll try to find out more for you!

You are only advised to spend 20 minues in one go working at PC Screen.

Every so often get up and go and have a drink or do another task for a bit. One of my old bosses said every time she wanted or needed a break she would pick up a pile of paper and have a wander around, people would see the paper in her hand and think she was going to a meeting - she is a solicitor.

If you are in the U.K you are entitled to a break in the afternoon it's either 15 or 30 mins, the rules keep changing so I'm not sure.
Phone an employment advice line or agency they will be able to tell you.
