The site that I would recommend is http://www.visitsingapore.com/publish/stbportal/en/home.html.

It really depends on what you like, i.e. culture, sight seeing, entertainment, shopping etc. You might want to try the itinerary planner that takes into consideration your preferences before recommending places to visit. http://www.visitsingapore.com/publish/stbportal/en/home/apps/ip_cart.html

Personally, i think you should spend a weekday at Sentosa, visit the zoo and the night safari. And since you are going to be in Singapore over Christmas, make sure you visit Orchard Road where there are dazzling Christmas street lights and decorations.

Shopping along Orchard road. Take a trip up Mt Faber for the view. Sentosa Island for the amusement park and ocean swimming. Excellent aquarium there with an underwater walkway. Tons of temples to see. Last but not least, you HAVE to stop in at Raffles Hotel for a Singapore Sling. It's almost a mandatory pilgrimage if you visit Singapore.
There are a number of WW2 historical attractions as well, scattered around.
It's fairly humid there at that time of year ( I was there end of Nov). Be prepared for the shock, when leaving the airport building.
Here's a fairly good site that will likely answer most of your questions

Singapore is one of the best places to shop, be it branded goods or tech gear. It has been noted to be one of the cheapest in the region too. Sight seeing areas include the zoo, birdpark, night safari, Esplanade (where you can catch a concert), Sentosa (beach / outdoors) One thing you MUST do is to try the local food. If you are in for alfresco, there are many food centers (clean and well kept ) around. Food is cheap there. If you want something more comfortable, many hotels offer delicious hawker fare too. Most food centers open through midnight. Some food courts (more comfortable) are 24hrs. Some food you must try: Chicken rice (u can get this almost everywhere for as cheap as S$2.00) Roti Prata (Indian style croissont with curry) Satay (Malay / Chinese bbq on skewers) Fried Prawn noodles etc etc Have fun!

Hop on one of the city tours, easily arranged at the hotel's front desk. Best bet to see the major sights within the day. If there's anything that interests you, go back there on your own time.
- visit these places for a taste of the different cultures (Chinatown, Serangoon Little India).
- travel by the public transportation, including buses and the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit). They are economical and efficient and the best way to be among the lovely people here.
- eat at the 'food courts', found in most shopping centers and the residential areas. Great selection of food from the various cultures/races and at very affordable prices. This and the item above are great ways to mingle with the local population and for a better understanding of how they live.
- Orchard Road, Marina Square for shopping.
- Boat Quay/Clarke Quay for dining and entertainment.
- Others must see include Zoological Gardens and Night Safari (highly recommended, world class), Sentosa

Singapore is a garden city and if you come here, I can guarantee that you will find it a home away from home, a city of lush beautiful greenery amid modern skyscrapers.

Here are the top 5 beautiful places in Singapore which you should visit the next time you’re in Singapore. Remember, no visit is complete if you don’t check out the places mentioned here.

1. Sentosa
The first beautiful place in Singapore I have in mind is Sentosa. If you like the sun, sand and beach and perhaps theme parks and good food, then Sentosa is a dream place for you.

I know you sometimes might love to let the kids or young ones frolick in the sand – there’s no better place than Sentosa. Go to Siloso beach for the best beach experience in Singapore.

2. Boat Quay
The next thing I’d like to mention to you is Boat Quay. Now, I know that sometimes you might want to get a drink or two late at night – well, Boat Quay is right up your alley. Boasting some of the most popular pubs and clubs in the island nation, Boat is definitely one of the top 5 beautiful places in Singapore – particularly at night.

3. Botanic Gardens
Ok, what’s the next place you ask? Have you ever wanted a stroll through beautiful Southeast Asian flora? Well, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, next in our list of beautiful places in Singapore, is a perfect match for you.

Inside, you will see all manner of trees, shrubs and flowers known to Singapore and the region. I know that if you love flowers, the Botanic Gardens is a must-visit.

4. Marina Bay
I’ve always known people who love to stay near the bay area. Well, Singapore has its own bay – Marina Bay - all set to be world famous in 2010 when the Integrated Resorts open.

If you are thinking of settling down in Singapore and buying a place, then check out the properties along the Marina Bay. They are, of course, the most expensive parcels of land in Singapore – so bring like, two million Singapore dollars before you choose a unit, ok?

5. Orchard Road
If you love shopping (and heck I know you do), the Orchard Road shopping district will be a ‘beautiful place’ in Singapore. All manner of shopping centres (e.g. Takashimaya, The Paragon, The Heeren, Centrepoint) exist along Orchard Road and is a definite haven for shopping addicts. Now don’t overspend here ok? You still need some money for the plane home …

Hope this helps. For more information, please visit:

Let me first tell you that you are visiting Singapore at a time, when there is lot of cheer, and excitement is the air, since Christmas is around the corner. The city comes alive with added energy, colors and sounds during Christmas.

There is plenty to do in Singapore and should I say to eat as well..

Here my picks, in fact anybody and everybody loves visiting these places

1. Butterfly Park & Insect Kingdom (more than 3,000 species of buttefly and insect specimens)

2. Night Safari (a different world comes to life here at night)

3. Underwater World (showcases the awe-inspiring beauty of the sea)

4. Jurong Bird Park (With over 9,000 feathered friends from 600 species)

You are surely going to like them

I think your stay will be too long, 3-5 days sightsee and that will cover all the best sights, culture and food. Skip over to Malaysia, either Malacca or Kuala Lumpur from here and you find new additon and interests to round off your trip.

A two in one package?
