there is no such thing as white dye. you may bleach it but are risking damdge to the material since it will take a while for the bleach to take effect on the cloth it can also thin it.

try maschera bridal. They do a service so if you find a dress you like they will make it for you, so you can take a few parts of dresses you like and they will create it for you. All the dresses on their website are available in any colour so I'm sure they could make a black one for you no problems. They are also UK based and their prices for custom made gowns start from £150 so why not have a look and drop them an email and get some quotes. At least your dress will be unique! From what I can remember they have a red ballgown in their collection, I think it's called Shanghai. hope that helps

No as a dye adds a pigment and white is the absence of a pigment. You could bleach the dress but then it would probably go a messy orangey yellow and fall apart.

Sometimes they can be bleached to white, depending on the fabric. Cotton and most cotton blends, along with rayon and linen, can be bleached without being ruined, usually. But if it's a synthetic fabric, or if it's silk, bleaching has a good chance of destroying the fabric.

They can be bleached but you have to be careful that the material is strong enough. Some bleaches will eat at the fabric and ruin it. Try a sample like you do when you dye your hair.
