The first day of bleeding is the start of your cycle, the next period you have will be the end of that cycle and the start of a new one, for example you start bleeding on Nov. 1st, your next period is Nov.28th(the next time that you start bleeding)that makes your cycle 28 days.

Cycle day (CD) 1 is the first day you have actual red flow, not just spotting. The last day of your cycle would be the day before CD1 rolls around again.

As an FYI, ovulation calendars are notoriously wrong. It will base your ovulation day on the assumption that you will have 14 days between the time you ovulate and the time your period shows up again. NOT ALL WOMEN ARE LIKE THIS! Some have only 10 days, some have 12, some even have 15 normally! It is best to figure out your ovulation date on your own, using a combination of basal body temperature charting and opk's.

your period cycle is from the first day you start bleeding until the next first day of bleeding of your next period. The average period cycle is 28 days, but it can be anything from 26-32. If you are trying to conceive you need to start writing down dates - when your period starts, how long it last, how heavy it is. The reason for this is if for any reason you find it difficult to conceive the these are the first questions your gp will ask you. You need to also be making a note because most women can find a pattern in their cycle and then they will best be able to know the best times to try and conceive.
Good luck xx

hi Laura, as quickly as I got here off bcp my cycles have been "popular" 28-29 days..via month 4, I had a 40 day cycle and now I well-known approximately 33 days. i think of my luteal section is purely too short because of the fact it rather is been everywhere from 9-12 days (many times 10 or 11). i think like maybe my first few cycles off bcp have been nonetheless like my bcp cycles (additionally lighter classes) and my hormones have been attempting to stability themselves out in view that then. i think of a 12 day lp is on the low element, yet no longer a illness technically...(12-sixteen is popular something under 10 is a illness). i'm taking diet b6 this month in hopes of lengthening my lp. I examine that bcp could make women folk undesirable in diet b6. i will permit you recognize if it facilitates! :)
