If you become a pharah's adviser, how does it matter who your father is lol. Remember joseph was not even from the pharah's clan so becoming an adviser would have been the biggest achievement, plus at that young age. He was ovecome with excitement, so he forgot about his father.

Joseph had been badly treated by his Brothers and wasn't interested in re-establishing contact at that time.

Because he was busy being the pharroh's adviser and thought maybe his brothers might kill him if he came back and he really did not want his coat back
