My company has several servers and all our documents must be saved there. The problem is that when I delete a file, where is it going? Is there a trash bin I can access? My trash bin only contains files coming from C: and my documents.

This is really a problem for me as I deleted a long report. I asked the IT people but they only looked in the temp files. This deleted report must be somewhere!

Thanks a lot.

It was not a really important file, just a lot of work and lost time. I wish there was a trash bin for servers. Wouldn't it make things easier?

They go into the website servers trash which would get permanently deleted every so often if you want to get a file back you should ask the hosting if they have a back up. In this case you should still contact your webhost.

It goes into the bit bucket and gets quickly overwritten.
If you are lucky, and if the file is old enough, IT might catch the file and restore it from a backup.

Otherwise you are screwed.
