I know what you mean..the hotel i work at has several huge old paintings of people along its hallways..and it feels like they are following my every move as i walk down the hall

Yes! like the Mona lisa! Any painting that has a person with an evil smile makes me feel like the eyes are following me.

yea it freaks me out my grandmother has a picture of my grandfather at the head of the dinner table i used to get nightmares whenever i visit the picture is just scary with the eyes following me

I know what you mean...
I hate that feeling in general. Not just with paintings or whatever.
I hate feeling as though i'm being watched or followed.
No paintings in my house then.
