To be a stock broker, you need to work for a company that has a "financial advisors" license, awarded by the MAS. When you work for them, you then apply for a "financial representative" license.

You also need to be at least 21 years old, satisfy the minimum academic qualification and examination requirements as prescribed in the Notice on Minimum Entry and Examination Requirements for Representatives of Licensed Financial Advisers and Exempt Financial Advisers (Notice No. FAA - N07); and satisfy the fit and proper criteria set out in the Guidelines on Fit and Proper Criteria issed by the Authority (Guideline No MCG-G01)

To get the licence, you need to pass various tests depending on what role you want to be in "stock broking". For example, analyst need to pass Module 5. Traders, salesman, remisers and sales-traders have their tests.
